Buying the business

In 1989, a small corner of a local paint store in Green Bay, Wisconsin, hosted the humble beginnings of Card & Coin. The shop, founded by Ted Pamperin, was originally a part of Pamperin Paints until it became clear that a dedicated space was needed. Responding to the gentle nudging from his wife, Ted relocated the store to a new location at 1920 Marlee Lane, right next to the Stadium Shell.

The story took a new turn in mid-1992 when Mike Worachek's father spotted an opportunity. He called his son, then a store manager for Pizza Hut in Stoughton, WI, with news that the Card and Coin shop in Green Bay was up for sale. Intrigued, Mike got in touch with his younger brother David, and together, they crunched the numbers. Their plan won the approval of their father, and Mike decided to take the leap, asking his dad to inform Ted about his interest in purchasing the shop.

This marked the start of a new era for Card & Coin under Mike's stewardship. For the next twenty-six years, the store remained at the Marlee Lane location, building a reputation as a go-to spot for unique Packer memorabilia and collectibles. In July 2019, a new chapter began with the move to its current location at 2208 S. Ridge Road, Unit 102, Green Bay, WI 54304.
